Birth
Inner-Wisdom Quotes from shared during inner-voice Sessions from Surrendered Soon-to-be-Mamas
One Planning Birth/Birth Plan Inner-Wisdom: “the experience of birth is within, not outside”
Facilitator: What about when there are interventions? Those can seem like outside affecting factors.
Inner-Wisdom: “the journey is still inside, even with exterior support and it’s often an unraveling of the ego and expectations”
“it can be aligning to have any intervention if the intention is correct for them involved”
“it’s about intention and autonomy”
“to decide now creates more suffering”
“it’s NOT to do list, it’s to BE list”
“you can research but the decision is in the moment, don’t over analyze, listen to what’s actually happening”
“the plan is more about mindset than about action steps”
“disconnect from fear – less planning, less reading, less analyzing, less expecting”
“listen to the moment and the baby”
“look inside, FEEL the answer, NOT THINK it”
“the stories make [intervention] more painful”
Facilitator: What will support her to move through Labour?
Inner-Wisdom: “allowing the light to come through”

On worries on knowing where to birth “coming back here, she knows the external is of far little importance compared to this. No matter what situation on the outside. This can always guide her. This is what will always gives her that strength. You can have the perfect plan, but if you don’t have this, it will just create more complications. Without this there is fear and there is control and there is tightness and all of those things are against the nature of birthing. Birthing is about opening up & trusting”
“this will be with her no matter where she is, no matter the external, no matter the situation, no matter the setting, no matter the company
don’t you feel it , don’t you feel it?
This is so deep
This is so strong
This is so big
All those things are puny, puny, puny, tiny tiny tiny
Even if you’re in a hospital room with nurses that don’t understand birth, that don’t how to talk to you,
Oh you have this weight
Oh you have this depth
Oh you have this strength
You know how to unlock, it’s too deep to be contained.
Will be with you in that moment no matter where you are.
So hard to just KNOW this- in the mind, is riddled with all those facets, all those stories, all those things the mind thinks it needs to decide on and factor in,
But learning to take it moment by moment, day by day,
Trusting this,
Being only weighted and attached to this.
All those other things, all others facets all those other factors, just wisps.”
“birth comes from here, more than anything else” (from within)
On Labor Pain “you can minimize and soften the pain of the contractions by allowing them. You’re not resisting the storm, trying to refute it or refuse it. Accepting that it’s there, accepting that this contraction is here, feeling it, being in it, while being deep, bringing the light into it. Of course not resisting, the resistance will only prolong, will only cause greater tension, will only cause more pain. Learning to accept and be in it and with it.
Learning to draw from that deeper place within. It’s like shining more light in the clouds, in the storm so it will pass with more ease, or more quickly or at least even if it’s rainy and cloudy, there’s still also some little rays of sunshine and beauty coming through.
Piercing,
Piercing
Piercing.
Of course it comes back to presence and acceptance.
Allowing
Feeling
Passing
And shining.”
